Colombia Sees July Coffee Production Jump 25 Percent Year on Year, Exports Surge
CoffeeNetwork (New York) – The latest data from the National Coffee Growers' Federation (FNC) notes that in July, the production of coffee from Colombia was 1,373,000 60-kg bags, up 25% from the 1,102,000 bags produced in July 2016.
So far this year (January-July), production was 7,700,000 60-kg bags, 1% more compared to the more than 7,600,000 bags produced in same period last year.
In the last 12 months (August 2016-July 2017), the coffee harvest was 14,300,000 bags, 2% more compared to the 14,100,000 bags produced from August to July in 2016.
So far this coffee year (October 2016-July 2017), the production of Colombian coffee was 12,100,000 bags, an increase of 3% compared to the 11,800,000 bags produced in the same period in the previous coffee year.
In July, Colombia's coffee exports were 1,007,664 60-kg bags, 106% more compared to the 489,000 bags exported in July 2016; a rebound that is explained by impact of the truckers strike in July of last year.
Since the start of the year (January-July), exports were 7,200,000 bags, an increase of 9% compared to almost 6,500,000 bags exported in the first seven months of 2016.
In the last 12 months (August 2016-July 2017), exports reached 13,400,000 bags, up 10% from the 12,100,000 bags exported from August to July in 2016.
Since the start of the coffee year (October 2016-July 2017), exports were 11,200,000 bags, 11% higher compared to the 10 million bags exported in the same period in the previous coffee year.
