CeCafe: Exports Should Resume Normal Levels by September
CoffeeNetwork (New York) – According to Nelson Carvalhaes, Chairman of Brazil’s coffee export association, Cecafé, exports are down 8% in the first seven months of the 2017 calendar year compared to the same period last year. Exports were said to have been impacted by reduced carry-over stocks and slow arrivals of the new crop.
However, exports should resume normal levels around September, he notes, as a result of the coffee from the 2017-2018 harvest entering the market.
The harvest is now more than 80% completed, according to the latest survey from Safras & Mercado, and should be completed in a few weeks’ time.
