Hi Alf , as you know, in agriculture rains is not always a good thing and drought is not always a bad thing. I think that you shouldn't worry with rains until late september(for arabica) , you have to look at the amount of rains that we had last year between november through march 2017 wich is the period that the coffee plant evolved for this next flowering , doing this you have to look at the minimun temperatures that we had in this winter to you to have a notion of the damage due to low temperatures. Putting it together we will have the potential of next year crop. We need a good rain late semptember and another drought in october(for a uniform floration and to avoid abortions) , and we will have a great picture for the big rains in november till march 2018 to help the development of the fruits and the crop of 2019/20.
