Re: Colombia: Conflicting Production Expectations

"Juan Alvaro Arboleda, a large coffee producer and exporter, located in the southeast of Antioquia, said coffee production in his province is expected to fall between 15% and 20% from last year because cloudy and rainy weather at the start of the year delayed flowering."
Market tends to see rains always as a good thing. Do not underestimate a rainy weather at the flowering season. In my region the problems with production and quality was not caused by drought, we did not have any drought, believe me. The problems was caused by rains at the wrong stages.
This year we are having a perfect weather so far in my opinion. The drought that we had recently was the drought of 2014, from there is only cheap talking and photos from specific locations that causes a wrong outlook.
