Wolthers Douque: Brazil’s 2018-2019 Coffee Crop Forecast at 59.02 Million Bags
CoffeeNetwork (New York) – Wolthers Douque USA have forecast Brazil’s 2018-2019 crop will total 59.02 million 60-kg bags.
“This will include about 42 million bags of Arabica and 17 million bags of Conilon,” Christian Wolthers, President of coffee importer, Wolthers Douque, told CoffeeNetwork in an interview this morning.
“Proper pruning and overall ideal weather conditions” have been contributing factors, he said, “trees had a good, slightly prolonged resting period//post-harvest stress hibernation,” said Wolthers. “In the end, this will promote a very good and strong flowering / blooming.”
Wolthers Douque USA had pegged Brazil’s 2017-2018 crop at 48-49 million 60-kg bags.
