Re: Production Consensus & Reliability Report

Hello Tango,

thank you for providing CTF with this excellent data.
I always wanted ask the question how can I find the actual annual crop volume not a estimate number.

And what is the time definition of the crop or better to say what is the time line of the entire process?
Is the crop 16/17 referring to crop started to bloom in Sept 2016 and is supposed to be exported in Sept 2017 ?
(Assuming the "Fiscal year" for farming starts in Brazilian Spring)
TIme Stage
Sep-Oct Flowering
Dec-? Ripping
??? Picking of ripe cherries
??? Processing (Dry or Wet) + drying
??? Grading and Sorting
Sep, Y+1 Export of green coffee

Through out that year various estimates are published, but when is the moment that it is actually possible to make a trustworthy guess if enough data is collected?
To me is seems reasonable to expect a reliable estimate at the time of Grading and Sorting.

Also, at what point is known the actual volume of the crop and what source can be used as the most reliable and accurate?
This is kind of mystery to me.

Thank you Tango or any other expert for bringing more light to this for me.

Regards
JK
