IBGE Reduces 2017-2018 Coffee Crop Estimate by 3.8%
CoffeeNetwork (New York) - In their latest survey, Brazil’s Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) revised down their estimate for Brazil’s 2017-2018 coffee crop by 3.8% from their previous estimate, now pegging production at 45.9 million 60-kg bags.
Arabica is now pegged at 35.7 million 60-kg bags, down 4.4% from the previous estimate and 15.9% lower than the Arabica production of the 2016-2017 crop.
Conilon production is pegged at 10.2 million 60-kg bags, down 1.3% from the previous estimate but 30.5% higher than the previous crop.
