Coffee Traders' Forum - A Discussion about Coffee Futures Trading
Coffee Traders Discussion Forum
Coffee is more responsive to the technical aspects of the market. The overall fundamental picture does not change all that often. We have geo-political factors which may impact the market, as well as currency moves (Brazilian real, Colombian Peso, etc). The weather is something that will move the markets, often times in a knee jerk manner. In terms of precipitation, it is more of a process to watch , whereas, frost is something that can impact the market in a short period of time. Frost scares are typically prevalent late May through early August--- with mid June through late July being the peak period. An extreme shift in production estimates from one of the more reliable outlets would likely impact the market as well.
For the most part, my best advice is to stick to the technical's while remaining cognizant of the fundamental outlook.
