Coffee Traders' Forum - A Discussion about Coffee Futures Trading
Coffee Traders Discussion Forum
IaBusyBee, your observation is important. There has actually been a slightly more severe period of drought in the flowering period of last year, both for the arabica and robusta (conilon) regions. In my view, although the experts are saying that in Brazil we will have a super crop in the robust, I do not particularly believe. I believe in a good crop, but not in super harvest. After three years of severe drought in Espírito Santo, it is difficult to believe that the coffee tree will recover physiologically after a good rainy season. The consequences of drought will impact one or two future crops. Moreover the price of robusta is far worse than that of arabica. This culture has its cultural treatment deficit because of the low prices practiced. Who knows this is the trigger in a brief future for the price reversal on Ice?
