Coffee Traders' Forum - A Discussion about Coffee Futures Trading
Coffee Traders Discussion Forum
I was also wondering about the price of these local trades..
Lets assume there is some stock from past ..
(even though there should not be, as this and other forums were full of stories about empty stock)
> Selling an extra stock coffee now for prices based on NY futures must be very painful, or is local price significantly higher?
> If yes, Is the price good enough even for older coffee than last years one?
> Is the age of coffee even relevant?
> Does this mean that those who sell now expect very good crop and/or lower international prices?
(otherwise it make no sense to sell coffee now, assuming that local producers already see their future crop potential)
I think it would be great if someone could comment on this.
I am depressed with past 12 months, because all claims of low crop in Brasil were apparently false,
and on the top of that it seems mass-market brands shifted from Brasil to other even cheaper origins.
So, to be honest, without major event disrupting global supply, I see no way to prices above 135 for next 12 months... :(
